What the name means
Break the job into modules, then set each one out properly.
A tiled surface is rarely one continuous thing. It is a shower recess, a floor field, a splashback run, a hob, a niche, a step. We treat each of those as a module: measure it, set it out on its own centre line, and decide where the cuts fall before anything is fixed.
The advantage shows up twice. On a single home, the joints line through from the floor into the shower and across the splashback instead of drifting a few millimetres per room. On repeat work — a modular or transportable build, a group of identical units, a staged renovation — the same module can be reproduced exactly, so the tenth bathroom matches the first.
It also makes quoting honest. When a job is broken into modules, you can see what each part of the space costs instead of receiving one figure for “the tiling”.

Waterproofing is not a step to rush
Membrane goes on prepared, primed surfaces and is given its cure time before fixing starts. Wet areas are the one place where saved time is paid back with interest.
One set-out per property
Rooms are set out against each other, not in isolation, so joints line through doorways and the floor grid relates to the walls it meets.
Clear dates, clear handover
You are told when we start, roughly how long each stage takes, and when the space is walkable again — and the area is cleaned down before we leave it.
