How Perth Modular Tiling Pty Ltd collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. Who we are
This privacy policy applies to Perth Modular Tiling Pty Ltd (ABN 91 698 998 784, ACN 698 998 784), a company registered in Australia and operating from Western Australia. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Perth Modular Tiling Pty Ltd.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in that Act. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
2. What personal information we collect
We collect only the information we need to quote for work, carry it out and meet our record-keeping obligations. That generally includes:
- Contact details — your name, email address, and any phone number or postal address you choose to give us.
- Job information — the address of the property, room dimensions, drawings, tile schedules, photographs of the space, and notes about access, scheduling and site conditions.
- Correspondence — the content of emails and messages you send us, and our replies.
- Transaction records — quotes, variations, invoices and payment records relating to work we perform for you.
We do not seek sensitive information as defined in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and we ask that you do not send it to us. We do not collect government identifiers such as tax file numbers from customers.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you in almost all cases — when you email us, complete the quote request on our contact page, speak with us about a job, or engage us to carry out work.
The quote request form on this website opens a pre-addressed message in your own email program. The form does not transmit anything to a server; the message reaches us only when you send it yourself, and it arrives as ordinary email.
Where you are a tenant, an owner's representative or a client of a builder, we may receive your contact details from that third party so that we can arrange access and schedule the work.
4. Why we use it
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- arrange site visits, access and scheduling;
- carry out and supervise the tiling work;
- issue invoices and manage payment;
- deal with warranty questions, defects and remedial work;
- keep the business records that Australian tax and company law require of us; and
- resolve any dispute arising out of work we have performed.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing. If we ever send you information about our services that you did not ask for, it will identify us clearly and include an easy way to tell us to stop.
5. When we disclose it
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary, and only to:
- builders, head contractors, other trades or property managers involved in the same job, where disclosure is needed to coordinate access or works;
- suppliers, where an order needs to be delivered to your site;
- our accountant, bookkeeper, insurer or professional advisers;
- payment and banking providers processing a transaction; and
- a government agency, court or regulator where we are required or authorised by Australian law to do so.
6. Storage and security
Personal information is held in our email accounts, our quoting and accounting records, and in paper form where a document was signed on site. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — including access controls on the devices and accounts used to run the business.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Email in particular travels across networks we do not control, so please avoid sending us information you would not want read by a third party.
7. How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as Australian law requires. In practice, quoting correspondence for work that does not proceed is kept for around two years; records relating to completed work, including invoices and job records, are kept for at least seven years to meet taxation and record-keeping obligations, and longer where a warranty or dispute period is still running.
When information is no longer needed and we are not required to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or to de-identify it.
8. Cookies and this website
This website is a set of static pages. It does not set cookies, does not run analytics or advertising scripts, does not embed third-party fonts or trackers, and does not have a login. We do not build a profile of you from your visit.
Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which can include IP addresses and request details, for security and reliability purposes. Your own browser may also store its ordinary cache; you can clear that through your browser settings at any time.
9. Overseas disclosure
We are an Australian business serving Australian customers, and we do not routinely disclose personal information overseas. Some of the everyday services we use — email, website hosting and accounting software — may store data on servers located outside Australia. Where that is the case we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles the information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
10. Access and correction
You may ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Email us at [email protected] and we will respond within a reasonable period.
We may need to verify your identity before releasing information. If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing and explain how you can complain about that decision. We do not charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable cost for the work of providing access where a request is extensive.
11. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information or breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please tell us first at [email protected]. Set out what happened and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it and respond in writing within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), which oversees the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The OAIC publishes current contact details and its complaint process on its website.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or legal obligations change. The current version always appears on this page with the date it was last updated at the top. Continuing to deal with us after a change means the updated policy applies.
13. Contact us
Privacy questions, access requests and complaints should be sent to [email protected].
